Cardiff is mostly known for being a city. Cardiff is actually one third countryside. Its terrain ranges from being coastal to river valley to giant hills and of course you can partake in any of the activities that usually occur in these terrains such as walking, climbing, horse riding, cycling. Cardiff also lies at the heart of South Wales and serves as an excellent gateway to much of Wales as a whole.
Cardiff is a very colourful and lively city. There are attraction such as Cardiff bay (considered to be one of the most successful government regeneration projects in the UK), Cardiff castle, national museum Cardiff and of course, The Millenium Stadium and numerous events and exhibitions.
Cardiff hosts top-class rugby and championship level football. They also have their own ice hockey team – the Cardiff Devils that you could go and give some support.
Cardiff Bay provides access to a range of sporting activities such as canoeing and jet boating. Cariff is also full of spas and treatment rooms if you simply wish to relax.
Cardiff also hosts an array of theatres and concert venues as well as pubs and clubs. Greyfriars Road and St Mary Street are places to find. to find pubs and clubs that are well known such as Tiger Tiger and Walkabout.
Ask anyone who knows Cardiff and they will tell you that Cardiff is one of the best cities in the UK for shopping due to its vast amount of high street retailers such as Oasis, Fat Face and Coast and the fact that they are not sprawled all over the place like e.g. London. You can find great shopping at the Capitol Centre in Cardiff shopping district.
There are many ways to travel Cardiff. Cardiff is easy to get around by foot as all you need is relatively close together. You can also use the Cardiff Waterbus or any other boat tour and there is always the Cardiff Bay Road Train.
Cardiff is a great city that can keep you occupied 24 hours a day.
