A self catering somerset family vacation is personally one of my most favorite ways to be able to relax. In this article I will show you the reason why I think this is so. Trust you find it useful.

It is said that the color green is among the most resting colors to the eye. If this is true, then Somerset provides relaxation in bucket loads – the entire place is green! Views including Glastonbury Tor, Wells Cathedral, as well as age-old Roman City of Bath are all covered with abundant green country side which is possibly the reason why they are among the most incredible sites I have seen anywhere.

Likewise not to be skipped is Longleat house – a fantastic stately house where the English kings and queens once regularly visited. Today it is open to everyone, and it has lost none of its splendour. There’s a guide in every room, whom are exceedingly experienced in the heritage of the house.

Bath is probably the most tourist orientated place in Somerset, and it’s hardly surprising – the place is a world heritage site. The best time to view Bath is certainly in the warm weather because there are many excellent parks within the city. However, even if the weather conditions doesn’t permit, it’s still worth going to the 2000 year old remains of the roman baths. A site to behold.

Even though Somerset offers little cost line, it’s still a hugely popular holiday destination. Minehead is one of the most widely used parts – but personally I might try to find other areas nearby down the coast.
