Oh How I Love Ohio
Ohio is not popularly associated with “outdoor adventure,” but you may be surprised to learn that the Buckeye State has an large quantity of state parks where there is outstanding rock climbing and rappelling, kayaking and wildlife tours in addition to a scope of natural, historic, and urban attractions that include theme parks and more. The Ohio countryside is a blend of bountiful farmland and thriving deciduous forest. One of the most scenic areas is the Hocking Hills region, a part of the Allegheny Plateau featuring lofty gorges, waterfalls and an abundance of caves. Ohio also has its share of interesting archeology; a pre-Columbian society existed in the area over 2,000 years ago, leaving burial mounds and other earthwork structures behind that you can discover today.

While in southern Ohio, some areas worth visiting include the Wake Nation Water Park which presents thrills that you will not find at an ordinary water park. An additional attraction is The Wilds, a distinctive animal destination where the animals wander free and guests stay in their cars. History buffs will not want to pass up a trip to Amish Country, where the Amish have stood true to their traditions for approximately two centuries. Further north, near Lake Erie, you can experience living history for yourself, riding a mule drawn canal boat and experience life in the 1850s firsthand at The Canal Experience. Amish country has abundant Ohio vacation rentals to pick from, depending on your resources and preference.
A lovely time to visit Ohio is in the spring and fall. The climate is mild, the humidity is low, and the colors in each season are beautiful. Amish country is truly a treat for delectable home made meals, hand carved wood workings, quality hand made quilts for sale, and an education regarding a simpler way of life. Come to Ohio for outdoor activities and take pleasure in their abundant charming bed and breakfasts.
